Dr. Finola Merivale (DMA '23) and Dr. Magdalena Baczewska have been announced as 2025–26 Fellows for the Institute of Ideas & Imagination. They, along with the other fellows, will spend time at Reid Hall in Paris, France.
Dr. Merivale, who received her DMA from the Department in 2023, will be working on new works, including a score for the experimental film Selkie: The Seal Woman by Irina Patkanian. Dr. Baczewska, Director of the Music Performance Program, will work on a project connecting historical and modern techniques of improvisation, specifically through unmeasured preludes from the 17th and 18th centuries.
