Here is Maestro Milarsky's original email announcement of the YouTube Premiere video:

The Columbia University Orchestra is proud to offer an exciting YouTube Premiere event. THE ADAMS PROJECT includes two short works by John Adams, the esteemed American composer. Tromba Lontana and A Short Ride in a Fast Machine were both recorded individually and remotely, from every corner of the globe. This semester has proven to be quite challenging scholastically, musically, and spiritually. However, with such beautiful energy, focus, and musicality, we chose to forge ahead despite of the obvious obstacles. What you will hear is simple teamwork, blazing concentration, and a fabulous amount of skill. The students in CUO are the best of what Columbia has to offer. We can see the world differently with music, and this odd yet effective approach gets us close to being together, especially during this time.

Please tune in on December 31st, 2020 at 7:00pm EST for the CUO’s performances of: Tromba Lontana and Short Ride In A Fast Machine.
