The Department warmly congratulates Dr. Paula Harper, who successfully defended her PhD dissertation in Historical Musicology titled "Unmute This: Circulation, Sociality, and Sound in Viral Media" on May 7, 2019. Dr. Harper's dissertation was advised by Professor Ellie Hisama, and her committee also included Professors Benjamin Steege, Brian Larkin (Department of Anthropology), Ana María Ochoa Gautier, and Kevin Fellezs.
