Nicola Hein Defends Dissertation

The Department warmly congratulates Nicola Hein, who successfully defended his PhD dissertation in Music (Music Theory), “A Thousand Ecologies of Improvisation: Cybernetic Listening, Auto-Cybernetization and the Decentering of Technology,” on September 19, 2025. Nicola's dissertation was advised by Professor Joe Dubiel, and his committee included Professors Seth Cluett, George Lewis, Andrew Pickering (University of Exeter), and Paul Stapleton (Queen's University, Belfast).
