The Department warmly congratulates Dr. Tom Wetmore, who successfully defended his PhD dissertation in Music (Ethnomusicology), titled "Jazz Steel": An ethnography of race, sound, and technology in spaces of live performance" on April 4, 2022. Dr. Wetmore's dissertation was advised by Professor Christopher Washburne, and his committee included Professors George Lewis, Ana María Ochoa Gautier, Steven Feld (UNM), and Ingrid Monson (Harvard).
