The Department warmly congratulates Jesse Chevan, who successfully defended his PhD dissertation in Music (Ethnomusicology), “Trombone Shout: Instrumental Voices in the United House of Prayer for All People,” on June 18, 2024. Chevan's dissertation was advised by Professor Christopher Washburne, and his committee included Professors Alessandra Ciucci, Kevin Fellezs, Josef Sorett and Braxton Shelley (Yale Divinity School).
