The Department warmly congratulates Artun Çekem, who successfully defended his DMA dissertation in Music Composition, titled "Mea Pulpa: A Musical Response to the Problem of Moral Agency and Determinism" on May 5, 2026. Artun's dissertation was advised by Professor Marcos Balter, and his committee included Professors Zosha Di Castri, George Lewis, Steven Takasugi (Harvard), and Natacha Diels (UPenn).
